(TEST) Diocesan Conference 'Found by Jesus'

Welcome to the Conference, we’re so glad you’re here! This year’s theme, “Being Found by Jesus,” invites us into the stories of  Luke and Acts—rich with discovery, grace, and transformation. Whether you arrive tired or full of anticipation, our hope is that this time refreshes your whole self—heart, soul, mind, and strength—and helps you encounter Jesus in meaningful ways.
You’ll hear from inspiring voices both within and beyond our diocese, reflecting our belief that God speaks through the familiar and the new.
As we gather, may this be a time of renewal, connection, and rediscovery—of Christ, of each other, and of the mission we share.
Welcome again. We’re truly glad you’ve come

Meet the Speakers

Revd Canon Jeremy Duff

Principle, St Padarns Institute
A liverpudlian, my first job was in the Army. I went on to read Maths and then Theology in Cambridge, followed by a New Testament D.Phil in Oxford. The following years have seen a range of roles straddling both ‘front-line’ Christian ministry and ‘back-room’ roles in theological education and management – Curate, Vicar, Cathedral staff, School Chaplain, Director of Lifelong Learning, Research Fellow, Senior Lecturer, Theological College tutor, Governor (school, FE college, theological colleges both Anglican and Ecumenical) and Reviewer. I have a particular passion for ministry in deprived urban contexts and the transformative impact of the bible. I live in Wrexham, with two amazing boys and an inspiring wife. Wild camping and computer strategy games keep me sane.

Bishop Esther Prior

Bishop of Aston
Born in Malawi, Esther moved to England for theological education at Trinity College, Bristol, in 1999. Since then, her ministry has been rich and varied: serving as a School Chaplain, a Young Offenders’ Prison Chaplain, and a Team Vicar in Farnborough.  She is passionate about helping churches grow into loving communities that equip people of all ages to follow Jesus in everyday life, and she actively fosters connections between churches and their wider communities.

She is married to Matt, also ordained, and they live with their two teenage children.

Dr Debbie Lewer

Senior lecturer, University of Glasgow
Dr Debbie Lewer is senior lecturer in history of art at the University of Glasgow.
She teaches and writes widely, especially on the history, politics and theology of the artistic avant-garde in the early 20th century in Germany. She is an expert on the most radical movement in the history of modern art, Dada. She is also a regular speaker in churches, theological colleges and at festivals, a popular retreat leader, a writer and occasional broadcaster

Pete Greig

Founder of 24/7 Prayer
Currently serving as a Senior Pastor of Emmaus Rd along with his wife Sammy, Pete Greig is a man with many hats. Alongside his role as pastor, he is an “Ambassador for the NGO Tearfund, an Associate Tutor at St Mellitus Theological College, and a member of The Order of the Mustard Seed”. He also co-hosts Wildfires and The Big Church Day Out events. Before that, he was also Alpha International’s Prayer Director. This takes us right back to what Pete Greig is best known for: the founder of the 24/7 Prayer movement.
